Trump in attacking Iran is actively destroying any reputation the USA ever had for being a just and fair nation led by rational leaders. This reputation has been degraded massively in recent decades due to the numerous regime change wars of choice the USA has embarked upon, the unconscionable death and destruction they wreaked and the lies used to instigate them.

Trump, with his inanely childish rhetoric, his betrayal of promises regarding seeking peace and now his attacks on both Venezuela and Iran have reduced the reputation of the USA to an all-time low. The degree of disgust and outright rage against Trump and the USA as a nation is at an unparalleled peak. The soft power of the USA and the West in general, once near all-pervasive has been consistently reduced just as their reputation in general has declined.

Daily, Trump’s ridiculous boasts and spurious assertions bring ever more reputational damage to the USA and reduce the very goal he so wants to boost. Trump is looking to assert U.S. power across the world and raise that level of power to its past peak and beyond. He is, in essence, seeking to make the USA the global warder of a planetary prison, nothing less. But this very goal, which is obvious for those with eyes to see, is turning the rest of the world outside the western orbit against him and against the USA.

Since the end of WWII until now the USA has been wielding significant power with the help of its vassals and allies over great swathes of the world. The narratives and memes regarding it seeking greater freedom and democracy were widely believed. World leaders in many cases gave great credence to these notions and were willing to lend their support. Some of course were coerced, threatened, blackmailed and forced through military means to comply and assist. But those days, mainly in the interval between the passing of the Soviet Union and Warsaw bloc, are over. Though still capable of military interventions and numerous covert intelligence operations, these are now seen through different eyes informing a new, anti-Trump, anti-USA policy.

Up until relatively recently the USA was not faced with a peer competitor. Like the neighbourhood bully it could act unopposed and those it threatened with violence had no one to turn to for protection. With the rise of China and with China allies in BRICS such as Russia, India, Indonesia and others, those bullied into submission by the USA have powerful friends they can turn to. Trump, in his primitive, thuggish approach is playing right into the scenario that if he had any sense at all he would avoid like the plague. His every aggressive post, his every self-aggrandising address to his ever-reducing but still slavish audience, is hurting the future prospects of the USA to an ever-greater extent.

With Trump at its head the USA has become a terminally wounded animal, its own habitat steadily deteriorating while it spends its time ravaging others outside its territory in a blind rage. This can only lead in one direction, eventual collapse and decay toward the death of all power left to it. The illegal and unconscionable attacks on Iran now occurring must surely constitute the final nails hammered into the coffin of U.S. global power. After this the trust level regarding the uSA must surely hit zero. All the great nations worldwide will surely now, in time, turn their backs on this wild beast. And not before time.
