Kamala Harris is so awful that the DNC had to spread a rumor that a secret superstar concert was going to take place on the final night of the Chicago convention. They didn’t want to end up with a bunch of empty seats in the stadium for Kamala’s big coronation speech.
Would it be Taylor Swift? Would it be Beyoncé? Billie Eilish? Lady Gaga? Tension grew throughout the day as the rumor mill swirled.
Toward the end of the day, everyone believed it was going to be a secret Beyoncé concert they were going to get. Of course, it was a lie and that never happened.
Imagine sitting through a Kamala Harris speech and then not getting a Beyoncé concert. Come to think of it, the whole situation was the perfect metaphor for what a Kamala Harris presidency would be like. You might think you’re getting a free Beyoncé concert when you walk into the voting booth and cast your ballot for her, but Hoo Boy, are you in for a disappointing surprise!
The way the media described the speech, you’d think Beyoncé had delivered it instead of the least popular vice president in American history. Get a load of this.
Jonathan Chait wrote in New York Magazine, “Kamala Harris Gave the Best Acceptance Speech I’ve Ever Seen. A perfectly-targeted message.”
Here’s the Wall Street Journal: “In a bracingly normal address, Kamala Harris delivered a triumphant capstone for the Democrats and defined their new reality.”
Did Kamala write that for them? I’m not even sure what that means. Are they unburdened by what has been, or did they fall out of a coconut tree? She never even mentioned the economy or inflation, which are the top concerns of around 90% of voters.
One of my favorite headlines had to be in the Washington Post the morning after the convention: “A close race brings fresh fears of election interference by Trump allies.”
Translation: We think Trump is going to whip the Drunk Sorority Girl like a rented mule and it’s going to be so bad that we’ll have to accuse him of stealing the 2024 election.
Kamala Harris’s boring and dreadful speech is the exact reason why I can’t write newspaper columns any longer. Print editors won’t let me use important words like “craptastic.”
One of Kamala’s lines from the speech that caught the most attention online was when she said she “fought against elder abuse.”
Oof!
You might even say she was on the front lines in that battle! Can we get fact check on that claim from Joe Biden?
The amazing thing about all of this is that on June 26th, just two months ago, everyone in the Democrat Party was talking about how they could possibly bump Kamala off and replace her with a candidate who could help Joe Biden win.
Even after Donald Trump ended Joe Biden’s political career and the Democrats started trying to oust him in a palace coup, Kamala was never in consideration as his replacement! As we reported at the time, Barack Obama, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Nancy Pelosi, and Chuck Schumer got on a conference call/planning session with the Biden family and Kamala Harris after the debate was over.
Jill Biden was still insistent that Joe was not going to drop out of the race. He was fine! It was just one bad debate. The Democrat Party elders then suggested that Biden drop out and endorse California Governor Gavin Newsom as his replacement. Kamala threw a screaming fit. She wasn’t even a consideration to replace Joe.
Kamala did set a new record on Thursday night. She is the first nominee in American history who did not get a post-convention bump in the prediction markets. Polymarket is the largest prediction market in the world. Before the DNC convention started, Kamala Harris was polling at 51% compared to Trump at 40%.
The morning after Kamala’s speech, Trump was ahead by 51% to Kamala’s 48%.
Rasmussen has been polling Independents Only in its daily polls. Donald Trump got a 2-point bounce among independents as a result of the DNC convention. He’s up +11 after the convention, compared to +9 a week ago.
