[Editor’s note: From scratch, Emma and David seemed to be too perfect for their roles as though they had been cast in a staged “school shooting” production. When I learned of the interview on 60 Minutes, it seemed highly likely to me that her “parents” had been cast for those roles, too. And that if that were the case, the parents would be lowlifes, willing to scam the public for their own benefit (which could be in the form of payment, expunging their records or other forms of reward). That they turn out to have criminal backgrounds, including drug dealing and child molestation, therefore, came to me as no surprise. How much did 60 Minutes know? Thanks to Dan for another brilliant expose.]
Curiously, the media has reported very little information about the family of Stoneman Douglas High School student, Emma González who seemingly overnight catapulted into the national spotlight as an activist and advocate for gun control. On the other hand, the media almost immediately reported the names and occupations of David Hogg’s parents and featured them along with his younger sister in interviews.
According to Wikipedia, David is originally from Los Angeles, California, but moved to Florida at the beginning of high school. He is the son of Kevin Hogg, a former agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Rebecca Boldrick, a teacher for Broward County Public Schools in Broward County, Florida. He has a younger sister, Lauren.
For Emma, Wikipedia states she was raised in Parkland, Florida and has lived there her entire life. Her mother is a math tutor and her father is a cyber security attorney who immigrated from Cuba to New York City in 1968. She has two older siblings. It was not until their 60 Minutes appearance that aired on March 18, that the media provided a glimpse of Emma’s parents.
[Editor’s note: A correspondent, “Anastasia”, has observed that, with the criminal record Dan reports about Jose below, he would appear to be disqualified from serving as an attorney, cyber security or not. She has sent a link that lists two Florida attorneys with similar names, neither of whom appears to be our “Jose”. Dan may have stumbled across a fake report, where he provides us with an update below.]
The 60 Minutes interview conducted at the González home in Parkland, FL provided just one quick shot of her father (who they did not name) but did feature a short interview with her mother, who was only referred to as “Beth”.
Elizabeth and Jose moved to Parkland, FL in November 1998 and still live there today:
Elizabeth has a criminal record and acting credits, too
According to (what appears to be) her IMBd profile, she has numerous television and film credits including Director. Perhaps, this is why she was interviewed and not the father.
When Elizabeth and husband, Jose Emilio González lived in Dallas, TX, she was charged for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver (Cocaine 4 grams):
Jose Gonzalez: Criminal Records for Possession and Child Molestation
Records for Jose E. Gonzalez reveal a wide variety of seemingly unrelated careers and an enormously long list of criminal records including Possession of a Controlled Substance and Child Molestation while in Dallas, TX.
Child Molestation and Enticing a Child for Indecent Purposes:
In addition, Jose’s criminal records include multiple charges for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and Driving While Intoxicated, Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place, Probation Violation and Assault:
By contrast, reports that he is an attorney look like fabrications
But his registration is in New York, not in Florida, which raises suspicions that it’s fake:
Elizbeth and Jose do not appear to have a daughter, Emma
Most puzzling of all, it appears that Elizabeth and Jose do not even have a daughter named “Emma”. They do have two sons, Desmond and Cary as noted in Emma’s Wikipedia profile but there appears to be no evidence that she is a member of this family based on background information.
Also, Emma does not appear on the list of registered voters for the González residence in Parkland, FL. Certainly, it stands to reason that she would be registered to vote given all of her advocacy work.
Equally puzzling, David Hogg does not appear to be the son of Kevin Hogg and Rebecca Boldrick according to background information. Their daughter, Lauren is included but not David.
The Gonzalez and Hogg Families may even be related
Furthermore, it appears that the González and Hogg families may in fact be related. At what appears to be Elizabeth’s Facebook account, her friends include Margarita and Guadalupe González, the mother-in-law and sister-in-law of Kevin Hogg’s sister Katherine González.
And another oddity, why did a dog drive by Emma and David in a truck during their CNN fake news interview?
I have pictures that would be very helpful to you but I don't know how to post them. Do you have an email address?

How can the Child Enticement offense be committed on June 14 and charges filed the day before – June 13?
I would like to know what they are too. I'm always looking for more reliable resources or that magic Great and Powerful Oz website that I have yet to find. :/
You rock Jim
Doing a video on this now
https://www.ritger.com/genealogy/familychart.php?personID=I282&tree=Rittger
Here's a family tree. I imagine that the info had to have been submitted, rather than compiled from public records and social profiles.
It list Emma as child of Jose/Elizabeth. Also links Dorothy.
Excellent work! Can you do a full check on Nikolas Cruz? Something VERY fishy about that guy being the shooter, a MKultraed patsy?, also his right eye has a slit pupil in an image of him looking up at the camera, when he was on the ground during his arrest…Oh these false flags are getting ridiculously more obvious by the day lol…
And since anything is possible, he looks to be an older version of Dylann Roof the church shooter! Both fake names of course!
I cannot stand David Hogg, he makes my blood boil…I wont to find out who he really is?! Because he is no FBIs son and im sure my intuition tells me thats tht his name.
There is other footage of him playing a witness on television to "the boogey board on the beach" incicent, you can see that on youtube…He is actually 25yrs old, never went to parkland, he used to go to school in California cos an old classmate put that on youtube straight after the shooting was announced but it was taken down fast.
Anyway thanks so much for all you do, this is great information
Thanks! Fixed.
Alison,
You are correct. I have made the change.
Thank you,
Dan Cromer
Jose Gonzalez is a common name, especially in Florida, Texas and California. There are even quite a number of men named Jose Emilio Gonzalez. The record that lists the criminal record is from Texas in 2013 and lists his name as Jose L. Gonzalez, not Jose Emilio Gonzalez, and lists his weight as 240 pounds. But JEG did not live in Texas in 2013, his middle name did not begin with L.
Where one lives and where one receives a criminal record are not not mutually exclusive. It appears that he has gone by other aliases.
Furthermore, JEG is listed as a registered member of the New York State Bar, in good standing and with no disciplinary actions against him in the past. He was admitted in 1986 out of Fordham Laws School and his "Disciplinary History" is this: "No record of public discipline". If he has been convicted or even accused of the crimes in question, then he would certainly have been reprimanded, suspended or disbarred by the NY State Bar. What gives?
Curiously, he has no website nor photos for his law practice–only a suspect Yelp profile. Also, law office address is listed at 22-55 31st St, Ste 206B, Astoria, NY 11105. However, it does not appear at Google maps. I find it odd that an attorney would conduct their practice in this manner.
Maybe Emma Gonzalez is not listed as JEG's daughter because she is young and has no records of her own.
That's possible but not likely. This data is determined by birth records. For example, David Hogg's younger sister, Lauren is listed for the Hogg family. But curiously, David and Emma both are not listed with their respective families.
And what happened to Vincent Gonzalez, who apparently tied the families together via Grandma Hogg?
Vincent is the son of Kathy Gonzalez. She is the link that connects the Hogg and Gonzalez families. Her brother is Kevin Hogg. I'm still looking into this.
I would not draw too strong conclusions from Elizabeth Wiegand's cocaine possession. 4 grams is not very much (about 16 good doses), and not a felony when pleaded down.
She was sentenced 5 years probation and was fined about $1000.
I would suggest that both Dan Cromer and Mona Alexis need to become acquainted with the large personal record databases available.
Any that you recommend?
You've got a typo in a heading, which says "Gomez" instead of "Gonzalez."
Interesting research, however.
Had a good laugh at the dog. Looks like it is driving.
David Hogg is certainly related to the man you found to be his grandfather, Robert Lee Hogg. Using ancestry.com you can find the picture of Robert Lee Hogg (b. 19 July 1933) in the St. Albans High School yearbook in 1951 (West Virginia). He has the same vulpine face.
Also, there is an 8th grade picture of Dorothy Bowman, David's grandmother, which looks very like the picture you found of the 83-year-old Dorothy J. Hogg. That is in the Reynoldsville High School yearbook, Reynoldsville, PA, in 1950. See also 1951.
An explanation for why David's info is missing from the family tree might be that the intelligence agencies scrubbed it earlier, possibly having another plan for him, then forgot to put it back! Maybe.
I applaud Dan Cromer for investigating the Hoggs and Gonzalezes, but he appears to have gone too far in drawing conclusions based on unreliable internet information.
Jose Gonzalez is a common name, especially in Florida, Texas and California. There are even quite a number of men named Jose Emilio Gonzalez. The internet aggregating sites for personal records are very unreliable. Very often they mix up persons with with similar names, especially when the names are very common. I would suggest that this is what happened with Jose Gonzalez. One Jose Gonzalez who lives in Texas is confused with another Jose Gonzalez who once lived in Texas. The Texas Jose Gonzalez was charged, inter alia, with driving without insurance and probation violation. This sounds to me like an illegal emigrant who had gotten into trouble before.
Dan Cromer's other assertions based on internet research seem equally suspect. Maybe Emma Gonzalez is not listed as JEG's daughter because she is young and has no records of her own. Desmond Gonzalez and Cary McCullough Gonzalez may not be siblings of EG, but some kind of in-laws, such as Elizabeth Wiegand's kids from an earlier marriage, or offspring from JEG's siblings. And what happened to Vincent Gonzalez, who apparently tied the families together via Grandma Hogg?
I would not draw too strong conclusions from Elizabeth Wiegand's cocaine possession. 4 grams is not very much (about 16 good doses), and not a felony when pleaded down.
I agree that there is something very fishy about the families involved. However, investigators need to do good research and make the proper (often limited) determinations rather than sweeping conclusions based on bot-based internet sites. I would suggest that both Dan Cromer and Mona Alexis need to become acquainted with the large personal record databases available. These are a bit expensive, but you can get access to them through university researchers or attorneys or journalists who regularly use them.
You said, "Margarita and Guadalupe González, the stepmother and stepsister of Kevin Hogg’s sister Katherine González." But wouldn't they be Katharine's mother-in-law and sister-in-law, instead?
Lovely people.
Excellent sleuthing. Thanks Dan, and Jim.
