If media reports are correct, the president is receiving 2 experimental drugs: the antibody cocktail, Regeneron, and the antiviral, Remdesivir.
Aside from their individual adverse effects…
THESE DRUGS HAVE NEVER BEEN STUDIED FOR THEIR COMBINED EFFECTS ON A PATIENT. AND NOW THAT PATIENT…THE FIRST PATIENT RECEIVING THEM…IS THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.
You know the adverse effects of Remdesivir, Scott. They’re more than worrisome. Acute kidney injury, for example. And this drug has only emergency authorization, and it’s explicitly for patients who are SEVERE COVID cases. Trump is not a severe case. What’s going on? Why are the Walter Reed doctors piling on?
The other drug, Regeneron, the antibody cocktail, synthesized versions of mouse and human antibodies, is still in clinical trials. There is NO authorization for its use.
In past trials of antibody drugs, highly increased infection has occurred. Very dangerous.
And pray these doctors don’t suddenly opt for a ventilator. They could do that, if Trump’s condition worsens, because of the effects of the DRUGS. They will call those effects “serious COVID decline.”
In a large New York study of COVID patients in Trump’s age group, 97 percent of the patients receiving ventilator treatment died. Ventilator treatment, as you know, involves heavy and prolonged sedation.
The president is in a very dangerous situation.
Every damn doctor who has any ethics at all should be screaming bloody murder right now. This is not supposition. Would you prescribe a patient not one, but two highly experimental drugs, each of which has very damaging effects? Would you prescribe them TOGETHER? EVER? Especially when the patient is not close to being seriously ill? Especially when the drugs’ combined effects have never been studied?
WHY ARE THE WALTER REED DOCTORS TREATING TRUMP AS IF HE WERE IN DESPERATE STRAITS?
They’re going after the president as if he’s hanging on to life by a thread and they have to throw everything they’ve got at him.
Who is watching over the president’s life? Are these doctors trying to kill him?

The funny thing is that after 4 years of Trump as president, we hope he is a good man, but “how good” many are not certain, including an Aussie myself. I can tell you our government, left wing ABC is always putting him down. Even 3AW a right wing station put him down he other day.

Boris Johnson (UK prime minister) had it. They didn’t put him on a ventlator. That is at least “official” story, anyway, who knows what really goes on, the same with Trump who visits fake shooting victims and does not point out it is all bull excrement, like some demos are saying it is, others say it is real and want him to die. From personal experience doctors can save your life, my mother had a doctor save her from what killed her mother, he felt her stomache with his hands and coukd tell the problem, that was about thirty years ago. I have had doctors stitch me up, get metal filings out of my eye etc. But I have also had doctors do things that made it worse, of coursen if did not do stupid dangerous things I wouldn’t be hurt in the first place. One time I was studying and had hurt my finger learning to backwards somersaults on the trampoline, my knee landed on my finger, the doctor gave me a pain killer, which I didn’t really need, the next thing my eye sight got blurry, I could just manage to ring the doctor, the receptionist said, that that happened to a lot of people and not to take it again, if that happened a lot why give it, till this day (about 45 years later) I rarely take any medicine, that fixed me for life. As for bossy, I have never had a bossy doctors (altough there are plenty of articles in Aust saying surgeons are often bullies), but I have struck some bossy burses, who were outright dangerous and devious. One nurse tricked me when she said to help her with our baby, the baby was covered in soap and water. Another time the nurse wheeled my wife (was sick after giving birth) to the end of a long corridor and refused to wheel her back, my wife had to wheel herself back, which ripped open the infected wound, the nurse said that is why she did it to open the wound and let the puss out, very scientific?????
Why isn’t Trump using his own good recommendation of hydroxychloroquine which doctors have had 100% success with. Another great cure is a steroid in a vaporizer. Ventilator is bad news. And why has he agreed to be a guinea pig? This is very strange! He needs to get out of that hospital. And he could help us out of all this if he would request the care of some of the Front Line Doctors who know better?
President Trump has huge respect and admiration for doctors. He takes their words as almost sacred gospel.
My former doctor at the VA gave me a good lesson about doctors….he couldn’t stand them. He knew how they can be….very authoritarian and bossy, with huge egos.
Don’t make the assumption this is real. It could all be theater as the comment above suggests.
I have little doubt about it. Unfortunately, this is the world in which we live. One lie after another
Putting a patient on a ventilator is usually a death sentence. Many doctors have said that ventilators are the WRONG treatment for a new-flu patient. The hypoxia that most new-flu patients exhibit is not helped by a ventilator. The blood needs to be oxygenated directly by a heart~lung machine.
The Post above is very insightful and scary. The President is in great danger in that hospital and it might be exaggerated by the political leanings of those doctors therein.
